
Welcome to Dr. Natalie Carter, who joins the StraightUpNorth (SUN Team) as a full time Research Associate and Community Engagement Lead!
Natalie brings tremendous experience and connections across Inuit Nunangat from her past six years of working with the Environment, Society, and Policy Group at the University of Ottawa. With the ESPG she was the Community Research Lead for the Arctic Corridors and Northern Voices research project.
She has already been engaged with SUN Team students and community researchers through several projects such as:
- Community weather, water, ice info uses and needs
- Goose policy analysis
- Making research work for Nunavummiut
Her dedication to community engaged-research and her commitment to supporting Inuit self-determination in research provide enhanced mentorship and coordination capacity within our diverse team.
