Background

Regena grew up in the beautiful Kawartha Lakes region, and lived in BC for 4 years before moving to Hamilton to start her MA in Geography at McMaster University. She received a BAS Hons. from the University of Guelph in geography and GIS and an Advanced Diploma in GIS Applications from Vancouver Island University. She is currently an independent GIS specialist and research consultant who has been privileged to work with First Nation communities in BC on treaty, lands, archaeology and language revitalization projects. She is interested in building bridges between Indigenous and scientific knowledge in environmental, conservation, wildlife and climate change issues. In her spare time, she can be found hiking with her dog, reading, or attempting to knit. She is excited to be part of the SUN team and to contribute to the Qikiqtait Protected Area project.

Research will contribute to:

Qikiqtait Protected Area Development
