Release of Community Monitoring and Environmental Forecasting Product Posters

We are excited to release posters that provide an overview of community monitoring and environmental services commonly used in Nunavut!

One of the recommendations that came out of our project Understanding Inuit community uses and needs for weather, water, ice and climate information and services was to:

“develop a list of useable/reliable sites and apps that help make the best decisions in travel”

We are happy to provide this set of posters that can be shared as images or printed as 11″x17″ posters. They are available in English, Inuinnaqtun, and two regional dialects of Inuktitut (Kivalliq and Qikiqtani). Download individual files or the whole set on our project page.

Community Monitoring Programs is a collection of community-based monitoring programs run across Nunavut, along with telephone, cable, and radio services to access weather forecasts.

Environmental Forecasting Products/Services is a collection of government and other free forecast products that Nunavummiut identified as being useful to check when planning travel.
