It was exciting to be able to get back to Gjoa Haven in the summer, after our first visit in February.  This trip was mainly to work with local collaborators to develop a SSHRC proposal that builds on results from Qanuittumik takuvit?, to fund the research priorities identified in the February workshops.  Specifically, we were trying to follow up on interests to have more regular elder-youth land camps, and explore how these camps can help facilitate research and education in the community.  I was fortunate to be able to participate in an elder-youth land camp being run by a local teacher at the time, which was an amazing learning experience and also helped greatly to inform proposal development.
